The Adega de Vila Real was founded in 1955 and is located in the Douro Demarcated Region, the oldest in the world, also recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The vineyards and estates of our partners are still cultivated using traditional techniques, largely consisting of old vines, low mechanization, and low yields per hectare. It is there that the grapes that give rise to our Port and Douro wines are grown, with a modern, international profile that preserves the Douro terroir. In recent years, the Adega de Vila Real brand has become one of the region's most vibrant references, affirming the Douro both in Portugal and abroad through a range of wines widely praised for their excellent price‑to‑quality ratio, press coverage, and success in prestigious competitions.
