A Adega de Vila Real was founded in 1955 and is situated in the Douro Demarcated Region, the oldest in the world, and also recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The vineyards and estates of our associates are still cultivated using traditional techniques, largely comprising old vines, with low mechanisation and low yields per hectare. This is where the grapes that give rise to our Port and Douro wines are born, with a modern and international profile while maintaining the terroir of the Douro. In recent years, the "Adega de Vila Real" brand has become one of the most vibrant references in the Douro, affirming the region both in Portugal and abroad through an offering of wines widely distinguished by their excellent price/quality ratio, the press, and the most reputable competitions.
