Produced with native cocoa from the Peruvian Amazon, this chocolate showcases the authenticity of a rare origin — only 1% of Peru’s cocoa production comes from this region. The fleur de sel used comes from Belamandil in the Ria Formosa, between Olhão and Faro, adding an elegant and balanced touch to the chocolate. The cocoa is cultivated in Tamshiyacu, Iquitos (Loreto Region, Peru), on a sustainable 1,400‑hectare plantation in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Studies have shown that Loreto soils are naturally cadmium‑free, ensuring purer and safer cocoa. Tamshi has developed a unique agroforestry system on 650 hectares, where cocoa trees grow in harmony with native forest species, promoting biodiversity and soil regeneration. The native Amazonian plant Commelina is used as ground cover, and 95% of the organic matter produced by the cocoa trees during the post‑harvest process is recycled as natural fertilizer, boosting soil biological activity and reducing chemical fertilizer use. The company controls all cultivation and post‑harvest stages, with the first quality control and traceability laboratory on a Peruvian cocoa plantation.
