Quinta do Ventozelo is one of the oldest and largest estates in the Douro, located on the left bank of the river in Ervedosa do Douro, in the municipality of São João da Pesqueira. With around 400 hectares, 200 of which are vineyards, the estate is one of the major producers of Douro and Port wines. Quinta do Ventozelo is part of the business group that also owns Casa Agrícola de Santar in Dão and Caves Messias in Bairrada. Terroir and wines Diversity: Quinta do Ventozelo features a great diversity of grape varieties, with more than 20 varieties planted at different altitudes and sun exposures. Soil: The schist and granite soils, characteristic of the Douro region, contribute to the complexity and elegance of the wines. Respect for the environment: The estate's production philosophy prioritizes respect for the ecosystem and the environment, combining native grape varieties with the terroir of each plot.
