In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the trade of cereals. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they stood out for the rigor and knowledge devoted to Port wine, elevating the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be seen as a harvest specialist, boasting magnificent yields that it regularly releases. Yet its Vintage Ports are of excellent quality, shining in great vintages. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to preserve brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
