The production of Moscatel, as a fortified wine, mirrors that of Port wines, producing sweet wines in which the alcoholic fermentation is stopped by adding grape brandy. After a set period of skin maceration, the Moscatel wine is moved to barrels for aging and refining its rich, aromatic profile. These wines are made from the various Moscatel grape varieties, internationally recognized for their aromatic richness and high natural sugar concentration.
