The grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard and crushed by foot in a press. After a few days of pressing, the wine begins natural fermentation, which continues with regular presses. Fermentation is halted by adding brandy—also made from Baga grapes—then the wine ages in old barrels for two years; after bottling it can mature for at least fifteen years. This is a slightly sweet, aromatic wine, offering a delightful blend of fruit—blackberry, currant, cherry, plum—together with notes of tobacco and spices.
