In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, focused on the grain trade. By 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. Over successive generations, they distinguished themselves through the rigor and expertise they devoted to Port wine, elevating the Burmester name to the pinnacle of quality and international recognition. Burmester is regarded as a specialist in vintages, with magnificent harvests at its disposal that it regularly releases. Their Port Vintages remain of exceptional quality, showcasing their splendor in the finest vintage years. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to honor brands founded five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
