In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they distinguished themselves with the rigor and expertise they devoted to Port, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be considered a specialist in vintages, with magnificent harvests at its disposal that it releases regularly. Yet its Vintage Ports are of excellent quality, shining in the best years. At the close of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to preserve brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image presented.
