This Cabernet Franc from the Setúbal Peninsula is a genuinely elegant and refreshing wine. Fermented in both French and American oak, it offers a remarkably smooth mouthfeel with beautifully rounded tannins that evoke classic red fruits and a subtle hint of spice – a bold little fighter, indeed. The terroir, shaped by 50-year-old vines and the influence of Atlantic breezes, lends it an intriguing mineral character, thanks to the rich iron and schist soils. It would pair wonderfully with lighter red meats or, perhaps, a good steak with a mushroom sauce to really amplify its complexity.
