Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world. From the outset, the company has pursued a long‑term vision based on the quality of the wines it markets, the importance of brand innovation, and the way its wines are presented. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos continues to fulfill the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑run business with an international outlook, focused on producing quality wines, driving innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global stage. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since 1942, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s leading wine regions, and the Alentejo region has always sparked a desire to launch a project capable of delivering the true quality of Alentejo wines to consumers. In 1998, the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed.
