Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision anchored in the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its wines. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly faithfully fulfils the objective set at its founding: to be a family‑run company with an international outlook, focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing globally‑rated Portuguese brands. Sogrape Vinhos owns about 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Since 1942, the company has invested in Portugal’s main wine regions, and the Alentejo region has always sparked the desire to implement a project capable of offering consumers the quality of Alentejo wines. Thus, in 1998, the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso property was finalized, quickly positioning itself in the national market thanks to its ability to offer varying levels of complexity and styles of wines.
