Alpedrinha red is produced from the grape varieties Jaen, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Touriga Nacional. After 12 months aging in stainless‑steel tanks, six months in French oak barrels and six months in bottle, it presents a deep ruby colour with aromas of ripe fruit, slightly cooked, and herbaceous hints. On the palate it is structured, with marked and persistent tannins. Adega do Fundão, founded in 1949 by 30 viticulturists from the Beira Interior region, is located in Cova da Beira—a vine‑growing area dating back to the 2nd century and Roman settlements of that time. The vines are planted along the Serra da Gardunha, allowing the production of grapes that give the wines an unmatched richness, freshness and exuberance. (illustrative image only)
