Alpedrinha tinto is made from Jaen, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Touriga Nacional grapes, and after 12 months of aging in stainless‑steel vats, six months in French oak barrels and six months in bottle, it presents a deep ruby colour with aromas of ripe fruit, slightly compote‑like, with herbaceous hints. On the palate it is structured, with pronounced and persistent tannins. Adega do Fundão was founded in 1949 by 30 growers from the Beira Interior region and is located in Cova da Beira, an area of viticulture that dates back to the 2nd century and the Roman settlements of that time. The vines are planted along the Serra da Gardunha, enabling the production of grapes that give the wines an unparalleled richness, freshness and exuberance. (illustrative image only)
