Right then, let’s have a look at this one… This Garrafeira, born from those granite soils of Cova da Beira, is a genuine step back in time. After seven glorious years in bottle, the deep ruby colour alone hints at the pleasure to come. Expect aromas of wild berries, a touch of balsamic, and a lingering note of coffee and tobacco – all a testament to its incredibly patient maturation. The tannins are beautifully polished, alongside that signature Cova da Beira acidity, making it absolutely perfect with some game, perhaps a slow-roasted suckling pig, to really balance the intensity. A truly remarkable wine with roots stretching all the way back to the Romans!
