The Monte Branco Winery was born from Luís Louro’s desire to produce modern, high‑quality wines in Alentejo, mainly from Portuguese grape varieties. To bring this personal project to life, Luís Louro drew on his professional training in Agroindustrial Engineering at the Higher Institute of Agronomy, the experience he gained over six years working alongside his father at Quinta do Mouro, and the know‑how he acquired during an internship in Sonoma County, California, in 2002. Alento is the first and best‑known wine label of Monte Branco Winery. It embodies the character of Alentejo regional wines that aim to be special and capable of breathing new life into everyday moments. These wines are produced by Luís Louro—producer and winemaker who assumes full technical responsibility for the entire process—using leased vineyards. Alento wines are modern, distinctive, largely made from Portuguese varieties, and perfectly blend two widely appreciated qualities: quality and price. (Illustrative image only)
