Crafted with a healthy dose of Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira, and aged for a full 20 months in new oak, this wine certainly delivers an experience. Expect a rich, deep colour, complex aromas of ripe red fruits alongside a noticeable balsamic note, and a surprising burst of dark chocolate and tobacco. The mouthfeel is undeniably generous, with ‘ample and structured’ tannins – essentially, you’ll need a good hug to tame it! The acidity is vibrant, and the finish remarkably balanced, suggesting the winemaker finally wrestled control of the hills. Perfectly suited for those who like a demanding wine – and one that’s certainly earned its devoted following.”
