This Alto do Pocinho, born on the slopes between 300 and 350 metres in the Douro Superior, seems deliberately designed to test your palate. The Viosinho and Rabigato grapes, grown on schistous terraces, showcase the raw power of the land and the Mediterranean climate, tempered by continental influences. With hand-harvesting and oxidation protection during winemaking, it’s clear there’s a meticulous attention to detail. A fantastic match for hearty oven-baked fish dishes, or, for the truly adventurous, a classic *polvo à lagareiro*. Angela Marín and her team have crafted a wine of undeniable character and quality.
