This is truly a testament to tradition! The Doda from Niepoort feels as though it sprung straight from a Douro fairytale. Half matured in a more intimate, riverside environment, and the other half macerated traditionally on foot – a practice that undoubtedly enhances the character of the ‘Vinhas Velhas’ grapes. Twenty-one months in French oak certainly refined the wine’s spirit, without needing any added intervention. It pairs wonderfully with black pork and mashed potatoes, a classic combination.
