This Moscatel, “As Claras,” clearly spent a lovely chat with the Alentejo sun. The initial sweetness, a gift from the Moscatel grapes, sets the stage for a wonderfully complex aroma of honey and candied orange. Remarkably balanced, thanks to the tannins imparted by the Alentejo terroir, it’s a refreshingly elegant wine – a perfect match with some fresh sheep’s cheese and fig compote, I’d say.
