The Quinta dos Murças, located in the heart of the Douro Denomination of Controlled Origin, is defined by the presence of eight distinct terroirs shaped by the mountains, varying altitudes and sun exposures, sandy soils, and the characteristic climate of the Douro River valley. In the vineyards, dozens of native grape varieties are planted under Organic and Integrated Production systems. Olive trees, orange trees, almond trees and Mediterranean scrub help maintain ecosystem balance. Esporão was born in Alentejo from an unwavering desire to make the finest wines.
