This “Bico-Torto” – a name hinting at a spirited, wandering character – spends its time ripening on the sun-drenched slopes of the Dão. Predominantly crafted from Touriga Nacional, alongside Tinta Roriz and Alfrocheiro, it develops a rich, ruby hue and a wonderfully intense aroma of wild berries, underpinned by notes of toasted grains and subtle spice. Remarkably smooth and harmonious despite its somewhat rebellious nature, it’s a wine that simply begs to be enjoyed – particularly alongside a generous slab of Iberian ham, I’d wager.
