This Boal from Vinha do Charlot – a remarkable 18 points from Grandes Escolhas – certainly proves the island is still full of surprises. Expect bright aromas of orange blossom, reminiscent of a sea breeze, interwoven with luscious damask and toasted hazelnut notes. On the palate, it’s a wonderfully structured wine with a refreshing acidity, culminating in a lingering, spicy finish. Seriously delicious with grilled white fish, particularly seabass, to really bring out its complexities.
