The bottles of older wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, as is to be expected from their age. The National Cellar is committed to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands/regions that, as a rule, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we note that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas evolve. Accordingly, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, given that it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and allow the wine to aerate beforehand, as this will help release its natural aromas after many years closed. If you decide to decant the wine before serving, be patient to detect the sediment that an aged wine tends to produce. (image purely illustrative)
