Description

The Bom Malandro red wine is made from noble Douro grape varieties grown in the Symington family vineyards located in the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior sub‑regions, at elevations above 400 metres. After a period of aging in stainless‑steel tanks and used French oak barrels, this classic blend offers a captivating aroma of red fruit, with prominent cherry notes and a hint of strawberry, complemented by floral nuances of rose hips and forest caraway. On the palate it is full‑bodied and velvety, delivering flavors of black plum and a subtle peppery touch. Its well‑structured body pairs round tannins with notable freshness, balanced by an acidity that confers clarity and harmony. Bom Malandro is a wine brand created the opposite way: instead of starting from grape varieties, estates, or terroir, it began with a name and characters to build its story. Here, the protagonist is the Squirrel, who makes the Douro its home. (illustration only)
