This Bombeira do Guadiana Reserva is a delightful reminder that the Alentejo still holds a few surprises. It boasts a robust structure, like a powerful river current, yet is beautifully tempered by the Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The tannins are certainly there, but thankfully don't leave a dry finish, while the Alicante Bouschet adds a welcome burst of red fruit that plays wonderfully with the wine's intensity. Seriously, it’s fantastic with slow-roasted pork, especially if you’ve got a good plum compote on hand.
