This Buçaco Vinha da Mata is a delightful mystery, seemingly sprung from a fairytale of the Bairrada. Born from the estate’s unique Buçaco forest vines and bottled only in auspicious years, it promises decades of ageing – a foresight shared by its visionary creator, Alexandre de Almeida, back in the 19th century. With the influence of Baga and Touriga Nacional, and matured in French oak, this wine evokes the grandeur of the Palácio do Bussaco, a legacy of tradition and elegance. It’s a wine best enjoyed with game dishes or a perfectly grilled fish – truly worthy of a feast within the palace itself.
