This is a seriously ambitious project from the Douro. “Caixa 3” boasts a wonderfully complex blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Rufete. With a lengthy 20 months aging in French oak – quite a trip for the wine itself! – it’s developed a robust character and plenty of structure to stand up to a hearty beef roast.
