This Caminhos Cruzados Reserva, a blend of Encruzado with a touch of Bical and Gouveio, clearly benefited from a thoughtful maturation. The meticulous winemaking – featuring hand-selection and pneumatic pressing – truly highlighted the star of the show: the Encruzado. The ageing in used French oak barrels was a masterstroke, adding layers of complexity that demand attention. Initially, the fresh apple and ripe peach notes emerge, complemented by hints of nuts and tea, a testament to a remarkably successful oxidative evolution. Perfect paired with fresh cheeses or a grilled white fish, of course.
