This Cartuxa de Talha Bio seems to have had a rather dramatic youth, spending some time languishing in earthenware amphorae – a technique, let’s be honest, that imparts a certain air of intrigue to the wine. Hand-picked berries, the most spirited and expressive ones, were clearly chosen. The result is a wonderfully surprising Alentejo red, perfect alongside game meats or earthy mushroom dishes.
