Cartuxa Foral de Évora DOC Alentejo The wine tradition of the Évora region fades over time, yet it is witnessed in the charter granted by King Manuel I to the city in 1501. Inspired by this historical legacy, Adega Cartuxa created Foral de Évora, a wine that blends history, tradition and wine excellence in an evocative edition of this significant milestone. First produced in 2000, it expresses the distinct character of Alentejo. Vinification Foral de Évora Tinto 2019 is made from Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Aragonez grapes. The vinification was carried out in stainless‑steel vats with prolonged maceration, followed by about 12 months in new French and American oak barrels and 15 months in bottle. It has not been stabilised, so it may develop slight natural sediment over time.
