Casa Américo The Casa Américo Tinto is a red wine from the Dão region, specifically the Serra da Estrela sub‑region. It is made from a selection of the finest red grapes of the Jaen, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz varieties grown on plots that are 15 to 40 years old. These plots are located in the Vila Nova de Tazem area, at an altitude between 400 and 600 metres, on granite soils. Vinification: the wine is fermented in stainless‑steel tanks with a maximum temperature of 25 °C. 70 % of the wine ages in stainless‑steel tanks, while the remaining 30 % is finished in used French and American oak barrels for nine months.
