This Casa de Cadaval Riesling is a wonderfully enigmatic wine, clearly having spent some time in a cool cellar, meticulously developing its character. The slow fermentation, held at a gentle 18°C, was almost lovingly managed, undoubtedly resulting in those wonderfully defined smoky aromas – a testament to its recognition at Grandes Escolhas. The result is a remarkably delicate wine, with a lovely peach note that's beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity.
