This Baga from Casa de Saima – recently awarded “17 points” by Revista de Vinhos – is a delightful demonstration of tradition finding a fresh voice. Initially presenting a bright colour with impressive concentration, it unfolds with notes of ripe red fruits, subtle spices and a resinous character, clearly reflecting the terroir of the Bairrada region. The finish is remarkably long and genuine, a truly deserving expression of the Baga grape, and would pair beautifully with a hearty beef stew.
