Casa Ferreirinha created a special wine with less common Douro grape varieties to preserve biodiversity and capture the true terroir of the region. The Hidden Grape Varieties, typically used in Port wine lots but rarely brought forward, combine perfectly with more prominent varieties, enriched by a significant share of grapes harvested from old vines. The Casa Ferreirinha Hidden Grape Varieties Red was aged for 18 months in reused French oak barrels, and according to Sogrape, “it is ready for tasting, though it is recommended to store it as it will benefit from three to five years of bottle maturation.” Awards: 93/100 – Robert Parker Wine Advocate (2019 vintage).
