This Callabriga Magnum clearly benefitted from a rather indulgent, long maceration – it seems the grapes were deliberately playing hard to get. Produced from the Quinta da Leda and surrounding vineyards, the grapes clearly enjoyed a particularly favourable vegetative cycle. The stainless steel lagars certainly played their part, allowing the key flavour compounds – those "films of ripe grapes" – to really mingle with the wine. A bold choice, ideally paired with a hearty beef dish, perhaps?
