Sommelier Edition is the result of a collaboration between the Portuguese Sommelier Association and Casa Relvas, designed to pay tribute to this noble profession within the world of wine. This ruby‑colored red, with violet reflections, is crafted from the Touriga Franca, Alicante Bouschet, and Touriga Nacional varieties. Its bouquet is complex, offering mature red fruit, white floral notes, and spices, all integrated with hints of vanilla. On the palate the wine is round, rich, and full-bodied, with balanced acidity, fine tannins, and a long, intricate finish. Casa Relvas is a family‑run venture that began in 1997 in São Miguel de Machede, Redondo, by Alexandre Relvas. It aims to carry forward a legacy spanning five generations, driven by a deep passion for the Alentejo and its authentic nature. Over time, the family has grown alongside the business, and today the estate spans roughly 750 hectares of mixed forest, 225 hectares of olive grove, and 350 hectares of vineyards—all under integrated production. With its three properties—Herdade de São Miguel, Herdade da Pimenta, and Herdade de São Miguel de Machede—Casa Relvas can produce about 6 million bottles of wine annually, 70 % of which are destined for the international market.
