Description

Casas Altas The landscape of Beira Interior is dramatic and sparsely populated, with a demanding climate, granite soils, and high altitudes. The vineyards coexist with vineyards, olive groves, and diverse woodlands at elevations above 650 m, on granite soils, with sun exposure from the north and southeast, and large temperature swings between day and night. The ripening periods are traditionally long. A unique terroir that gives distinctive qualities to Casas Altas wines. It is here that the Vinho Tinto Casas Rufete is born. “When I make my wines I seek the purity of the origins, without embellishment. I seek the true expression of the land and the grapes. In complete respect for viticulture, the grapes, and nature, I produce wines with a minimum of intervention.” – José Madeira Afonso Vinification: Total destemming, fermentation in stainless‑steel conical vats for 2 weeks at controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged until bottling with slight filtration. Awards 17.5/20 Grandes Escolhas Allergen information Contains sulfites. SKU: 107275
