Description

Castelo do Sulco Reserva tinto is a selection built on the expertise of the enologists who conceived it, crafted from Touriga Nacional and Aragonez grapes. After a brief stint in French oak barrels, it offers aromas of red‑fruit preserves and spices. On the palate it is smooth yet full‑bodied, with a persistent finish. Quinta do Gradil has been referenced in Portuguese wine history since 1492. However, it was only in the 17th century that the vineyard and wine became part of the estate’s economic activity. The decisive moment came in the 19th century when Dona Maria do Carmo Romeiro da Fonseca inherited the Quinta from her father, transforming it into a benchmark agricultural enterprise focused on wine production. Years later, the Quinta remains a Portuguese reference worldwide, now led by Luís Vieira. (Illustrative image only)
