Located in Saint-Émilion, a sub-region of Bordeaux in western France, Château Cheval Blanc, a 1er Grand Cru Classé, is without a doubt an exceptional wine. Its history begins in 1832 with Ducasse, a judge at the court of the city of Libourne, who bought a property near the town, acquiring 15 hectares of vineyard from Château Figeac. Among the most acclaimed wines of Saint-Émilion and of the world, the legendary Château Cheval Blanc has, over the years, taken on enormous importance. In Saint-Émilion, near Pomerol, the estate covers 39 hectares divided into forty-five plots, each treated as a separate vineyard because of differences in vine age, grape varieties, soil types, and other factors. The combination of these factors creates the terroir of Cheval Blanc, where wines of great complexity are produced. (illustrative image only)
