Located in Saint‑Émilion, the Bordeaux sub‑region in western France, Château Cheval Blanc – a Premier Grand Cru Classé – is undeniably an exceptional estate. Its history dates back to 1832 when Ducasso, the judge of Libourne’s court, bought land near the town, acquiring 15 hectares of vines from Château Figeac. Among the world’s most celebrated Saint‑Émilion wines, the legendary Cheval Blanc has grown in importance over the years. Adjacent to Pomerol, the property spans 39 hectares divided into 45 parcels, each treated as a distinct vineyard because of the vines’ varying ages, grape varieties, soil types, and more, a mix that gives Cheval Blanc’s terroir its complexity. Le Petit Cheval 2011 offers salty nuances, blackcurrant and black cherry, a spice‑box aroma, and mineral hints. Round, generous and medium‑bodied, it’s an excellent wine to cellar for a decade or more.
