Description

**Château Haut‑Brion** Elegant and complex, the Château Haut‑Brion Rouge offers mineral aromas and a unique depth of character. Its strength lies in the finish, which is surprisingly long. This aromatic persistence is a result of its noble origins. **2023 – Climate and Harvest** The winter was marked by high precipitation and relatively low temperatures. The bud burst occurred in mid‑March, followed by vigorous vegetative growth encouraged by the warm, humid spring conditions. The vineyard’s privileged location, with excellent airflow, and careful team monitoring helped limit disease development, especially mildew. The flowering took place under excellent conditions, although the strong vegetative growth required increased green‑tender work. The red grape harvest began on 6 September under high temperatures. Maturation was very good, with excellent concentration of flavor and sugar, while maintaining freshness and fruit character. The abundant harvest continued until 4 October, making 2023 one of the longest harvests in the estate’s history. Despite heat waves, the fresh and fruity character of the crop was preserved. **Technical Data** - Harvest: 6 September – 4 October - Blend: 52.3 % Merlot, 38.6 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 9.1 % Cabernet Franc - New barrels: 68.7 % **Awards** - 100 / 100 Jane Anson – *Inside Bordeaux* - 99 / 100 Giuseppe Lauria – *Fine Wine Guide* - 98 / 100 *Vinum* Wine Magazine - 98 / 100 Jeff Leve – *The Wine Cellar Insider* - 98 / 100 Adrian van Velsen – *vvWine.ch* - 98‑100 / 100 *The Wine Independent* - 98 / 100 La Tulipe Rouge - 98 / 100 Tim Atkin - 98 / 100 La Tulipe Rouge - 97 / 100 Jean‑Marc Quarin - 97 / 100 CellarTracker - 96 / 100 *Wine Enthusiast* - 95‑97 / 100 Robert Parker – *The Wine Advocate* - 95‑97 / 100 *Wine Maniacs* - 95 / 100 Chris Kissack – *Winedoctor* - 17.5 / 20 Jancis Robinson **Allergen Information** Contains sulfites. **SKU:** 106648‑3
