Produced from Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, this wine is fermented with native yeasts, allowing a more expressive character that reflects the vineyards and soils. It is aged for one year in used barrels. Founded in 1981, Herdade dos Coelheiros is a family‑owned estate that has earned recognition for producing wines of indisputable quality, both nationally and internationally. This legacy of excellence began with the launch of its first labeled wine, *Tapada de Coelheiros*, in 1991. Located in the municipality of Arraiolos—known for its border‑stitch artisans who craft one of Portugal’s most beautiful traditional crafts, the famous Arraiolos rugs—Herdade dos Coelheiros chose to honor the cultural identity of this land on its wine labels.
