The classic Incógnito reveals aromas of black plum fruit, plums, and delicate hints of toast and spices, paired with a complex earthy scent profile. Elegant on the palate, it features velvety fruit backed by a firm tannic structure, making it a wine with strong aging potential. In 1988, a Danish and an American couple set sail on a yacht in search of a place to start a family, plant a vineyard, and produce wine. A fairy‑tale dream that birthed the story of Cortes de Cima, now one of Portugal’s leading wineries. Located in Vidigueira, Cortes de Cima is a family‑run estate managed daily by Hans and Carrie Jorgensen, covering 140 hectares of vines planted with Aragonês, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Petit Verdot, Antão Vaz, and Verdelho. The oldest vines were planted in 1991, when Syrah was not yet allowed by regional regulations. Nevertheless, Hans, convinced that the climate and soil were ideal for this Rhône variety, created the first unlicensed Syrah wine in 1998, marketed as Incógnito, which quickly gained fame in Portugal and earned medals in London, Brussels, and Bordeaux.
