Covela The Quinta de Covela practices organic farming on granite soils that form a natural amphitheater with multiple sun exposures. It is set on low‑altitude, terraced vineyards on the right bank of the Douro River. Winters are cold and summers hot and dry, at the border between the Mediterranean climate of the Douro Valley and the Atlantic influence of the Douro Coast. Manual harvest. Grapes are transported in small boxes to prevent crushing. Bunches are manually selected. Total destemming followed by gentle pressing, with a light skin maceration.
