Avesso

About this grape variety

A Vinho Verde white grape grown principally around Baião in the southeastern Minho — a warmer pocket within the region. Avesso produces fuller-bodied whites than the Minho average, with ripe stone-fruit aromatics, balanced acidity and gentle structure. Often blended with Loureiro and Arinto, it stands on its own in single-variety bottlings as a more textured, less austere expression of Vinho Verde.
