This Croft Quinta da Roêda Vintage is a bold statement from the Douro – you can already tell it’s going to pack a punch with its rich colour. The nose immediately transports you to exotic lands, driven by the characteristic resinous notes of the Touriga Nacional alongside Mediterranean aromas. The Aragonez brings a robust counterpoint, and the core of the wine is undeniably a beautiful compote of raspberries. With hints of cedar and smoked wood adding layers of complexity, this wine certainly deserves the 93 points awarded by Jamie Goode – a fantastic accompaniment to a hearty beef roast, wouldn't you agree?
