Description

Located in the Dão region, Gouveia is surrounded by mountains and has a temperate climate where Mediterranean influence dominates the Atlantic, with hot, dry summers and wet, cold winters. This red wine from the Dão is made exclusively from the Jaén grape and displays a deep garnet‑red colour with a slightly persistent sheen. After nine months ageing in French oak barrels it presents a nose of wild blackberry, compote, dried plum, mushroom, and smoky notes. On the palate it is dry, silky, and balanced.
