This Dalva is a Douro wine that’s certainly not afraid to shake things up, earning a respectable 17 points from Jancis Robinson. Expect a powerfully concentrated experience, with initial bursts of jammy fruit and warming spices that mature beautifully into hints of nuts and coffee. It’s a genuine homage to the ‘Vinha Velha’ – showcasing the interplay of Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Viosinho. Seriously impressive, and a perfect partner for a creamy pastel de nata, if you’re feeling particularly Portuguese.
