Pacheca Red is a wine that captures the authenticity of the Douro through a harmonious blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca. It displays an intense ruby hue and an engaging aroma, where ripe red and wild berries dominate, wrapped in delicate floral nuances and subtle spice hints. On the palate it is balanced and enveloping, with soft, well-integrated tannins that give it structure without sacrificing elegance. The freshness provided by its natural acidity highlights the fruit expression, leading to a persistent, pleasant, and very food-friendly finish. Quinta da Pacheca, one of the most well-known estates in the Douro, is distinguished for being among the first to bottle its own branded wines. The name of this Quinta has been recorded since April 17, 1738, when a dated document first references the “Quinta da Pacheca” because its owner was D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that D. José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to pursue his growing interest in enology, purchasing the property with the aim of dedicating himself to viticultural production. Today, a century later, the new generation of the Serpa Pimentel family takes over the estate’s management: Maria, Catarina, and José are the young faces of this strongly family‑centric business.
