This Dom Rafael is a truly evocative wine, transporting you straight to the heart of the Alentejo. Crafted using time-honoured methods – foot-treading and granite lagares, much like the Herdade do Mouchão has been doing for over a century – it boasts remarkable longevity. The blend of Trincadeira, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet, alongside a touch of Castelão, contributes to a rich tapestry of dark fruit, plum compote and a hint of mint. Robert Parker himself praised its elegant structure, and it’s certainly a fantastic partner for a decadent dark chocolate. A solid choice for those who value tradition, and, naturally, a genuinely good wine.
